ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

MASTER DAVE MARTIN

Master David Martin in the owner of both schools and the most senior instructor, he has studied many styles of martial arts and travelled a lot to gain the knowledge he now has and is often asked to teach seminars around the Country, Europe and has taught in the US. Part of a group of Master Grades he continues to train and share his experience so that he can still bring new ideas and knowledge back to his own schools so that students and instructors can all benefit.

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR
Mr. JOE ALLEN

Mr Allen is the Chief Instructor of the Maidstone school, he started his martial arts training at the age of 11 under Master Martin, now working for him as his Chief Instructor a similarity in teaching styles is often noticed. After completing a National Diploma in Public Services he was offered a possibility of employment doing what he loves. He jumped at the chance and now enjoys his job whether teaching a 4 year old to focus or a 40 year old a jump kick! Mr Allen has strong beliefs in working his students hard on the mat’s to get the improvement though also letting the student develop their skill and reassuring them that it takes perseverance and patience to become great at martial arts.

 

 

 
 SENIOR INSTRUCTOR
 Mr. ANDY O’BRIEN

Mr. O’Brien has been with Master Martin for many many years. He has also trained in Judo and also now holds his second degree in Taekwon Do. Teaching mainly adult students, his form of simple self-defence techniques is liked by many. Mr. O’Brien believes in hard work and with consistent training he wants to make you safer and more confident on the street.

 

 

ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
Mr. RYAN HOGGART

 

 

Mr. Hoggart has been training under Master Martin for 6 years. Master Martin accepted Mr. Hoggart on a one day a week work experience placement, now working full time and being trained to become a full instructor. A friendly face at the reception desk and can make an excellent coffee in the refreshment area, he assist’s with teaching and demonstrations helping the students on a one to one basis.

 

 

 

 

GRADING EXAMINER
MR PAUL JACKSON

Mr. Jackson is Master Martin’s longest serving student to date, and now still a hard working student he holds his third degree black belt in Taekwon Do and has the role of the schools grading examiner. Gradings are where Mr. Jackson will examine the students throughout their regular lesson once every 2 months and if he can see a solid improvement and a motivated hard working student he will present them with their next grade and belt.
