Pressure Points
Pressure Points, the art of using strikes,
rubs and holds to meridian lines on the body, have been an important
part of the Schools training for many years.
Pressure Points are the hidden knowledge
of the old Masters, taught only to the most dedicated students.
The true meanings of patterns and katas are exposed by Pressure
Points. What were taught as blocks and stances which seem to have
little use in actual fighting are seen to be very effective ways
of hitting points to the meridian lines of the body, resulting
in extreme pain or knock-outs, even death should circumstances
call for it. All with the minimum of force, infact the more relaxed
a person is the more effective the technique. Pressure Points
work regardless of your opponent’s size even if they are drunk
or on drugs. Although not taught as a separate discipline, Pressure
Points are integrated into all aspects of training.
Once or twice a year the School will
host a seminar dedicated to Pressure Points. There are also opportunities
to attend other seminars within the U.K., or join the annual trip
to train at Mr George Dillman’s School at the Muhammad Ali Training
Camp in America. Mr Paul Bowman probably this country’s leading
exponent of Pressure Points has visited the School on a number
of occasions with his students to give demonstrations of techniques
and showing many knockouts.
